Weekend Wanders (open)
Tammy had been bored, it had been raining all day, and for a saturday to have it raining all day was just depressing, it wasn't like they could really
go out when the weather was fine, but to have even that option removed made everything so much worse. Tammy had first sat in the common room playing
wizarding snap with some of the other girls in her house, and then had even become so bored she'd gone to the library to actually do her homework for
next week. She'd managed to finish two and half pieces which was like an all time record, but she was bored again. There were a couple of hours till
supper a couple of hours to kill which she was sure she could manage. She began heading back to the common room when she noticed a door she'd not seen
before, it was odd she'd walked this way to the common room all term but this door was new. Tammy was curious and tried the handle of the door and was
surprised when it opened. She looked through the open door, it led to more corridors corridors she didn't recognise. He eyes lit up, she'd not been
able to explore for weeks and this door wasn't covered in loads of do not enter signs so it must be okay. SHe slipped through the door into the
corridor. She had her wand with her, she was fine, and as she reached into her bag she had her copy of Hogwarts a History with it's really useful
maps. She opened to the dog eared maps section and even looking at she wasn't totally sure where she was right now. She was sure she was till on the
ground floor but that was about it. Perhaps if she walked a little further she'd work out where she was. Tammy grinned the wet saturday just suddenly
got alot better.

Freyja was bored senseless. Being a generally studious girl, she had been doing her homework as soon as possible, ensuring it was as good as she could
posibly make it. There was no way she was going to let herself get thrown out of Hogwarts and give her dad any excuse to send her to Durmstrang. She
had been finishing off a last piece from her Core Magic class in the library, just brushing up on her references, and generally daydreaming. It wasn't
too bad at Hogwarts, she mused. So far she had managed to avoid being noticed pretty much, by both professors and other students, which worked just
fine for her. Finally tiring of referencing, she packed her books away, and pulled her runes out, idly casting a couple of sets. Hmmm... Othila was
featuring heavily, indicating adventure... Well, being here was an adventure in itself... Glancing up, she noticed a young girl from Gryffindor
heading out of the door. She looked at her watch, and decided that now was as good a time as any to head back to the common room. Grabbing her bag,
she followed after the young blonde girl.
Freyja furrowed her brow as she noticed the girl, a little way ahead, go through a door that definitely wasn't on the list of "allowed" doors.
Curious, she followed, listening closely to figure out which direction the girl had taken. Damn... she had lost her. Looking back, she seemed to have
gotten a little turned about herself. So, instead of doing the sensible thing, and divining her way out, she kept walking quickly, relieved to
eventually catch up with the young girl. "What are you doing? Where are we?"

Amon was anything but bored. As a matter of fact he was rather excited. Having finished his classwork (Or rather not done it at all, which was
finished to him) he decided to have go exploring. He had been planning this for a while, so he used it as an excuse to not do the classwork which he
found rather pointless.
He had found a new door. An unlocked one, on his way to class. He had been pulling on all the doors for now particular reason other than to waist
time, and this one happened to decide to open. Curiously he poked his head inside and saw a grand number or corridors heading every direction. He made
plans to go and learn more about this interesting place.
After his classes and uncompleted assignments he grabbed what he'd need. This particular time he grabbed, paper, pencil, and chalk. He had a rather
incomplete training from Professor Hawkins on how to make a map. So he figured some chalk would make it easier to find his way back. He wandered
around, not making it particularly quickly in any direction because he was taking plenty of time to create a map of sorts. His marks with the chalk
didn't show up to terribly well and he eventually just set it down after taking a few turns.
Finding absolutely nothing of interest after wandering a bit, he started heading back. On the way, he heard voices, unfamiliar ones too.
"What are you doing? Where are we?"
He knew that some of the other students had been hearing voices, and he himself saw that creepy thing messing with his professor the night he was
attacked by a giant flaming bird. He figured the best idea was to sit back and try to pick up the rest of the conversation. He turned back around a
corner and waited for whoever was here to keep talking or for the voice to stop all together.

Elewa tried very hard to do all of his homework. He really did want to. It was simply too loud. Every time he tried to repeat the instructions over so
he could make sense of them, be that in his head or under his breath, he failed to register anything but the noises and conversations around him. He
felt his breath quicken, and knew it was hopeless. He shoved the homework in a small bag which already contained a package from home, a letter, and,
of course, his wand, and left the common room. He paused for a moment in the hallway.
He couldn't do his homework in the Hallway, nor could he in the dorm, as it was loud there too, and the classrooms were out of the question, and
everything else was forbidden. So, then it was down to either the forbidden zone, or the classrooms. At least there wouldn't be anyone else in the
forbidden area, so he thought, as it was, in fact, forbidden, no one was supposed to be there. No one included him, but at that point he didn't really
care.
Elewa walked quietly down the corridor a little ways, until he found a door he was sure he wouldn't be allowed to enter. He hadn't even seen it
before, but he knew it wasn't a door that lead to the 'ok' section.
He hadn't walked too far, now more curious, and less determined to complete his homework, when he realized he wasn't as alone as he had wished. He
froze. Two girls were a little ways in front of him, one taller than the other. Neither of them looked like any of the professors- the blond professor
was short, but her hair was longer, plus the girls were wearing uniforms, too, which would be weird for the professors.
"What are you doing? Where are we?"
Stupidly, Elewa opened his mouth to answer, then closed it, remembering they probably hadn't seen him yet. He wondered if he could walk away without
being caught- he wasn't really supposed to be there, after all.

Tammy really hadn't been down this corridor before well she didn't recognise it if she had been down it. She wondered if the professors had cleaned
another part of the school and she'd not been paying attention, either way it was pretty cool. And as there had been no signs she was sure she
wouldn't get into trouble for being here. Not of course that she minded, she was making an effort to explore this place and well she'd not been caught
last time she was out of bounds. SHe looked at her map she had no idea where she was still but it didn't mater it was still cool.
Tammy heard footsteps behind her and turned round and saw someone she didn't quite recognise, she was dressed in the red and yellow of her house, but
was a fair few years older than she was.
"What are you doing? Where are we?"
Tammy looked at her and shrugged, "Dunno, just went through the door, but there are no keep out signs so I'm not anywhere I shouldn't be." she said
defensivly. "Who you anyways?" she asked the other girl.

The corridor had a musty smell, and a cold, damp feel to it, obviously not having been used in a very long time. Freyja watched as the girl messed
about with what looked like a map, and then whirled around at her approach.
"Dunno, just went through the door, but there are no keep out signs so I'm not anywhere I shouldn't be." Who you anyways?"
Freyja shrugged. She really didn't know whether or not she was supposed to be here or not - she had just been following to see where the girl headed.
"I'm Freyja Hansen, year 5, just started here. You?" She took a few seconds to look around, not liking the deserted feeling that was prevalent here.
The hairs on the back of her neck stood up - she just didn't like it in here. Drumheller, although an old building, had been warm and welcoming, even
in the disused parts, but this... this was a different proposition altogether. Maybe it was because of that explosion or whatever it was that had
closed the school for years, but she didn't care. She just wanted to get out of there. "What are you looking for, anyway?" Despite her disquiet, she
was still curious, and remembered that the rune Othila had kept pointing towards adventure. Maybe this was it...

Tammy looked the older girl up and down, she was the youngest of three sisters and not easily intimidated, in fact the total opposite she took it as a
challenge, something that had started at Beauxbatons and had not abaited.
"I'm Freyja Hansen, year 5, just started here. You?"
Though the civility of the other girl caught her a little off guard, "Er Tammy Brogran I'm a first year, I was sent here at the start of term." she
said with a shrug, "Why you here now, start of term was a couple of months ago?" she asked very bluntly, she didn't know what tact and subitiy was.
She looked back at the map in her book and shoved it back in her robe pocket.
"What are you looking for, anyway?"
Tammy looked back at the older girl, "Nothing really just wondered where this door went, it's raining and boring and well there was a door." she said
with a shrug, it was mostly true, she was hoping the corridor led somewhere interesting, the castle tempted her with interesting things almost
continually but with the professors sealing off so much of it, it frequently failed to deliver.
Tammy looked around the corridor looking for any sign of where she was, or if there was anyone else down here, "Why are you here?" she asked the older
girl.

The younger girl had a look of defiance that somewhat startled Freyja. Much as she had been trouble personified at Beauxbatons, she had never really
encountered such hostility from any of the other kids.
"Er Tammy Brogran I'm a first year, I was sent here at the start of term. Why you here now, start of term was a couple of months
ago?"
Freyja smiled at Tammy, pleased to at least not have her head bitten off for just trying to be friendly. Brogan... where did she know that name? She
shrugged and grinned at the question of why she was there so late into term. "I got expelled from Beauxbatons, so I begged dad to send me here rather
than Durmstrang. I really didn't fancy being stuck in the freezing cold for another three years!" She frowned as she realised where she knew the name
Brogan. "Hang on... have you got a sister at Beauxbatons?"
"Nothing really just wondered where this door went, it's raining and boring and well there was a door. Why are you here?"
She grinned again, blushing slightly at having to admit to this. "I was just following you to see where you were going. I've not even been here a
week, and I have no idea where anything is. I still almost end up in the restricted areas just trying to get from the commons to the Great Hall." For
a divination specialist, Freyja had no real sense of direction, something which she really must work to improve.

"Hello! You taking a break from homework too?" She asked Tammy as she walked over.

As all the gather students looked round the corridor it was certainly one none were familiar with. It looked different to a lot of the other corridors
that they all had access to. The ceiling was wooden and the walls seemed have been scowered right down to the brick the same with the floor. It was
long with many doors leading off it as well as one or two stair cases. It looked deserted and a lot of the glass in the doors were smashed, if it was
decontaminated no one had through to reglaze the windows.
The place smelt damp and dusty, and was iceily cold as if it hadn't know heat or warmth for many years.

Tammy was surprised when the girl didn't bite back, usually older girls tended to, especially in her old school and especially her eldest sister and
her firends.
"I got expelled from Beauxbatons, so I begged dad to send me here rather than Durmstrang. I really didn't fancy being stuck in the freezing
cold for another three years!"
Tammy couldn't quite believe it, she even burst out laughing, "You went there as well?" she exclaimed, "No way they kicked me out of there last
summer, I didn't even finish my first year." she said almost proudly, "I'm here because it was this place or home schooling no where else would have
me, not even Durmstrang's. Apprently I was the first want to be arsonist they'd ever had, they totally over eacted to the situation, was totally an
accident on my part, well mostly." she said with a shrug, she knew a few people who'd left Beauxbaton's had come here but she'd not met anyone else
who'd been expelled. She wondered if Gryffindor was where they put expelled pupils.
"Hang on... have you got a sister at Beauxbatons?"
Tammy visibly winced at the comment about her sisters, she'd been glad when she'd been kicked out of school because then she didn't have to live in
the shaddows of her sisters but wasn't keen on being reminded the excisited. "Three, but it depends on which you mean, the bitch, the brainless one,
or the slapper?" she asked using the description of her elder sisters that had caused her mother to have a fit when she'd said it after being expelled
and fed up at being told she was not as good as them.
"I was just following you to see where you were going. I've not even been here a week, and I have no idea where anything is. I still almost
end up in the restricted areas just trying to get from the commons to the Great Hall."
Tammy shrugged and looked around again, "I have no idea where I am, and the restricted areas aren't that bad, I've been in loads of them, its all a
load of rubbish." she said over exagerating exactly how many times she'd actually been in the restricted parts. "Any way theer were no signs here, so
it can't be that bad, was thinking of seeing where it led, might a short cut, or might lead to somewhere cool, like a restricted bit." she said
grinning broadly, restricted was like a giant brightly coloured sparkly sign inviting her to go somewhere.
"Hello! You taking a break from homework too?"
She heard more footsteps and was surprised to see Lailah one of the Hufflepuff first years, "Oh hey Lailah," she greeted, the girl was a little quiet
but she seemed alright to talk to, "Yeah it was boring and pointless so I stopped, figured I go on a wander and look I found a new door with a really
miserable corridor behind it." she said brightly.

Then a third girl joined the two in front of him. Elewa heard them talking, clearly no interested in noticing him. That was good. Well, it didn't
really matter, as he probably would have continued on either way.
Elewa shuddered, suddenly realizing it was cold. Well, he'd known it was cold, it sort of just registered. Like a momentary shiver. He looked down at
his robes and shrugged. Warm enough. Clutching the strap of his bag with one hand, the other at his side, the Gryffindor kept walking down the
corridor, moving a little to the right at one point to avoid crashing into the other three kids. He managed to crash into the wall though.
He absentmindedly turned a corner, not noticing at first that once again he wasn't alone. He was too busy glancing at the doors he passed, many with
shattered windows. This place hadn't been used in ages, probably, it didn't look anything like the other hallways. Maybe it was one of those
disappearing doors he read about. Only sometimes there. He stopped walking, and sat down, his back to the wall. As he didn't know the hallway, it
would probably be best if he didn't stray too far from the door. What had he come for again? Home work? Letter? Oh, right, he must've come for the
letter. Too loud to read the letter. Yes. He reached into his bag, shuffling around in an attempt to find the letter he'd received from his Aunt.

Well, apparently Tammy and some other student were around the corner. He stood their a bit longer, trying to figure out what was going on. Apparently
the other girl wasn't a problem, and Tammy really didn't like her sisters. And, quite possibly neither did the other one.
"I have no idea where I am, and the restricted areas aren't that bad, I've been in loads of them, its all a load of rubbish."
He stepped out from around the corner. "I question the truth behind that Tammy," he said, "You and I have both had some very interesting experiences
here." He paused. "Oh, and hi."

Freyja laughed a little nervously. Was Hogwarts really the reject repository it seemed to be, a last-chance saloon for wayward wizards and witches?
"How can arson be accidental?" Her non-descript little voice was incredulous. Yes, she had been known at Beauxbatons as a prankster, but this
girl... Tammy... "Oh god, last summer... that was you??" She laughed again, not quite believing that this girl who had caused utter mayhem at
the stuffy school in France was here with her... "So what exactly happened??"
"Three, but it depends on which you mean, the bitch, the brainless one, or the slapper?"
Freyja grinned. There has been a girl in the year above her with the surname Brogan, who had tried to make her life a misery. Fortunately for her, she
had usually managed to avoid her. "The one who would be about 17... bit of a bitch and a slapper, according to her reputation." She giggled,
amost enjoying gossiping with the younger girl. Tammy's explanation of what she was doing was interrupted by a young boy and another girl., both
around the same age as Tammy. The boy was cocky as he spoke, and Freyja listened to him while the other girl, Lailah, greeted Tammy.
"I question the truth behind that Tammy. You and I have both had some very interesting experiences here. Oh, and hi."
Freyja smiled slightly at the younger boy. "Hi. What do you mean, 'interesting experiences'? You can't leave the new girl hanging. Tell me!"

"I question the truth behind that Tammy,""You and I have both had some very interesting experiences here."
What do you mean, 'interesting experiences'? You can't leave the new girl hanging. Tell me!"
Tammy shrugged, "Well I guess if you can call a giant stone snake made of bits of castle interesting..." she said, it had been a little interesting
but not that much, "I still recon that was a set up by one of the professors, probabily your house head or mine. Exploding imps was also pretty
funny." she mused with a slight chuckle. She looked over at Freyja, "Weird stuff happens here, makes exploring more fun, but I don't think it's as bad
as everyone says." she added some things had unnerved her and made her not sleep well for a few days but she would never admit that to any one. Tammy
had worked hard both at Beauxbatons and here to hide the fact that sometimes she got scared, she charaged at everything headlong and without thinking
about it, because if she did she was always worried she wouldn't do it.
"How can arson be accidental?" "Oh god, last summer... that was you??" "So what exactly happened??"
Tammy listened to the questions, she'd heard the first before but from her mother and screamed loudly at her when she'd mentioned it had been an
accident. She nodded, "Yep it was me, and well my firend Frankie, but I took all the blame because my mum would just yell at me till she got horse but
Frankie would have been kicked out of his family or something. And it was an accident because I didn't actually mean to set anything on fire, it just
sort of happened, hence accidental arson." she added with a shrug, how was surposed to realise that you couldn't have smoke without fire. "Well see
Frankie had been complaining that there was never any honey left at breakfast and well magic'd food never really works so I suggested we made the
things that made honey bigger and we'd get more honey." she started, it had all seemed such a good idea, "But I suck at telling the difference between
bees and Hornets. And we made a nest of massive hornets, and looking back perhaps the main hall wasn't the best place to experiment, but we did and
well we have bloody great hornets flying around and trying to sting us, and Frankie remembered reading that muggle bee keepers use smoke to make the
bees not sting. Unfortuantly I don't know any smoke spells, so I did fire ones instead to get smoke, and well, the curtains in the hall burnt alot
quicker than I expected, as did the tapperstries on the walls and stuff, and then the hornets caught light and flew around spreading the fire... so we
legged in straight into the headmistress, who sort of had a melt down over it all." she said as if it was an every day occurance to get kicked out of
school. Well okay at this school perhaps it was.
"The one who would be about 17... bit of a bitch and a slapper, according to her reputation."
"Oh Ebony." was Tammy's response, "Yeah she is a bit of both, kinda glad she's not here it's nice not having any of them here unlike Beauxbatons,
everyone instantly disliked me cos of who my sisters were and the professors there complained I wasn't like my sisters, so whatever she did to you I'm
sorry." she added she'd quickly learnt her sisters were bullies and many people expected her to be the same, which she wasn't, well she didn't think
she was. She certainly didn't hassle people like Fred the way Dylan did. But at least here people didn't know her sisters, well until this new girl
and if she did Tammy figured she probabily should appologise for whatever they'd done.
She looked down the corridor, "So I wonder where this leads?" she said feeling the itch to explore, "It's not on the map in my book, but the book also
says that some times corridors appear and move, wonder if this is one such corridor." she mused.

Freyja's eyes opened wider and wider as Tammy talked. She had heard some weird things about Hogwarts, but hearing about it from someone who had
experienced things first hand was totally different, somehow brought it a lot closer to home. "I suppose that would depend on what you had
heard..."
"Unfortuantly I don't know any smoke spells, so I did fire ones instead to get smoke, and well, the curtains in the hall burnt alot quicker
than I expected, as did the tapperstries on the walls and stuff, and then the hornets caught light and flew around spreading the fire... so we legged

She listened as the younger girl detailed the incident, and couldn't help bursting into hysterical laughter. She had heard that it was a rather
comical incident that had caused the fire, but had never quite heard the details. "Oh my god... ummmm... if you don't mind me asking, what's your
specialty? Obviously, it's not necessarily conjuration!" There seemed to be a preponderance of witches and wizards who were highly skilled in
conjuration, so it would be nice if there was another one at Hogwarts who found it challenging.
"Oh Ebony. Yeah she is a bit of both, kinda glad she's not here it's nice not having any of them here unlike Beauxbatons, everyone instantly
disliked me cos of who my sisters were and the professors there complained I wasn't like my sisters, so whatever she did to you I'm

She grinned at the blonde girl. Being an only child, she had never had to worry about living in a sibling's shadow. "Well, I don't particularly like
your sister, so..." She shrugged. "No reason why we shouldn't get on, is there? And don't apologise to her - she never really did much to me - I kept
out of her way as much as I could..." She smiled to herself - she had pulled a prank or two on Ebony, but nothing she was prepared to tell Tammy about
just yet. She wanted to get to know the girl a bit better first.
"So I wonder where this leads? It's not on the map in my book, but the book also says that some times corridors appear and move, wonder if
this is one such corridor."
"The only way to find out where it leads is to follow it, I suppose... "Freyja looked up and down the corridor to make sure that there were only the
four of them, and frowned as she saw movement near the doorway. "Hello? Is anyone else there?"

"I suppose that would depend on what you had heard..."
"Well what have you heard?" he asked, having been in near death experiences, that Tammy hadn't been in, he was curious to know if the rumors outside
the school were factually or just your average rumors.
"Unfortuantly I don't know any smoke spells..."
Tammy recounted her story from her old school and Amon laughed at hearing again. It hadn't lost any of it's humor from the last time.
"Oh my god... ummmm... if you don't mind me asking, what's your specialty? Obviously, it's not necessarily conjuration!"
He wondered if Tammy would take that the wrong way. He doubted it, because Tammy seemed kind of laid back, but you never know. He also wondered if
conjuration was Tammy's strong point. She did conjure the fire after all.
And then they started talking about Tammy's sister or something. How they didn't like her, and how she was a 'slapper'. He immediately lost any
interest at all and figured that he would leave them to their 'girl talk' or whatever it was. He toke a few more steps and heard the one girl, Freda
or Freya, or some other F name say something.
"The only way to find out where it leads is to follow it, I suppose... "
"I choose that way," he said pointing straight ahead, "If we're lucky it will be warmer that way."

"Well what have you heard?"
God, this kid was cocky! He couldn't be any more than 12, and had the arrogance of your average 18 year old. Freyja bet he was trouble around here.
"Oh, you know... ghosts, and the wild magic... the usual." She didn't feel like going into everything she had heard, at least not here and now.
Instead, she concentrated on talking with Tammy about her sisters, who had been the biggest bitches going at Beauxbatons. Sometimes, a good bitching
session was both fun and cathartic. And, seeing as Freyja had yet to meet any girls her own age, Tammy was as good a confidante as any.
"I choose that way. If we're lucky it will be warmer that way."
Freyja shrugged, and turned to Tammy. "I say we let Tammy choose - after all, she started this!" There wasn't an ounce of malice or blame in her
voice, just amusement, and a slight touch of authority as she hoped to persuade the younger boy to defer.
