5th December
The large doors to the school opened with a painful creaking and scraping noise. The early morning light streamed in and lilluminated the enterance
hall of the school. Cold air rolled in to the hall which was surprisingly warmed compared to the cold frosty morning air outside.
It was well before the first bell for lessons and normally at this time students were busy wolfing down breakfast and getting the morning post from
anxious or nagging parents.
Two figures entered the hall and dragged the doors closed behing them as if they had been here before. But currently they were the only people
here.

He'd been here before of course, both many years ago as a student and just before the crazy fool Brocklehimer had decided to reopen. In his opion as
Minsiter for Magical Education the place had gone to the dogs. He'd no idea why the old fool Brocklehimer had been so intent on reopening it, claiming
that British magical education was in the duldrums, what was he talking about? British magical education had never been stronger, small schools within
the UK where magical education was taught to strict ministry guidelines of learning styles and an unyeilding cirriculum. Then came this lunitic and
his insane ideas which were not at all what the Ministry was thinking, well certainly not what his department was thinking and as he was minister for
magical education only his opinion counted. He wasn't interested in old castle building he was far more interested in building fashionable modern
magical acadamies. And if it wasn't for this place he would be building them.
"I see they still haven't relaxed the apperation rule." he complained as he stampped the cold out of his feet. "I don't see why we had to walk all the
way, surely they should have relaxed it for our trip here." he continued looking at the other man who was with him. He was incredibly glad he was
here, he had refused to step into this forsaken place without him.
He looked round the enetrance hall and scowled, he had hated this place as a boy, and hadn't minded it not being around during his time as Minister
for Magical Education as well if it had been he'd have torn it dwn and rebranded it as one of his modern magical acadamies that he loved so much, it
would have become the Hollycake magical acadamy, and it still would once they this attempt at reopening it failed, and then they could teach Ministry
approved magic.
"So where is everyone....didn't they know we would be here today?" he exclaimed as he saw they were the only two people here. "I sent the owl.... I
did I sent it and why aren't they here? This is ridiculous." he was not impressed he had been very specific in his owl to Brocklehimer that he would
be here at 8:30am, it was bad enough the man was to rude to reply to any of his owls but to ignore a visit was just not on.

Eldritch Trevelyan closed the door behind them at least to keep the warmth of the castle in. He looked around the place hadn't changed much in the
last few months since he and some of his department had checked it over before the first students had arrived. The areas they had promised were clean
had been just that, he'd been surprised at the time, and was still surprised now. He'd come here after the original accident and being here again
always brought back those memories. He'd been head Auror for 5 months when it had happened and had remained in the position ever since. The place was
quiet, as the grave some would say, he wouldn't as he knew that for many this place was just that.
"I see they still haven't relaxed the apperation rule." "I don't see why we had to walk all the way, surely they should have relaxed it for
our trip here."
Eldritch sighed, "Appreation into Hogwarts has never been possible minister, and it was only a short walk from that station, and it is a nice clear
morning." he said softly, he always spoke softly and very few had ever heard him raise his voice those that did allo tended to end up in Azkaban. He'd
enjoyed the walk, it was a glorious winter morning, everything was frosty and white, it had yet to snow be he had no doubt it would. And for once the
castle was actually warm to enter.
"So where is everyone....didn't they know we would be here today?"
Eldritch reached into his dark silk robes and pulled from it a bronze watch and looked at the time. "Perhaps Minister we are just running a little
early." he wondered if he should have sent an owl ahead to Napier, one of his Auror's on detatchment here, a thing he still wasn't sure about, he'd
been surprised when Headmaster Brocklehimer had requested Napier but well he had been a student here and he was a dam fine Auror so perhaps having
someone who could at least defend against dark magic had been a good idea. "I'm sure the Headmaster will be here shortly."

Fred slowly made his way down to breakfast, he was tired, he could have done with longer in bed he'd bearly slept a wink last night, some
kind person had sent a post owl to him every hour on the hour to deliver a blank letter. He was just too tired right now but he had a fair
idea of who it might have been. Well there were a limited number of suspects in the school, and he could put one or two names at the top of any list.
It was just unfair that they always picked on him, they left everyone else alone, it was always him, he hated being small, and wearing glasses, it was
as if someone had painted a target on him. And just to check they hadn't actually done that he looked over his shoulder and almost tripped over his
robes. He muttered something and carried on his way to find breakfast.
He normally liked breakfast, or any time in the main hall, there were usually professors there and all the other students and the usual suspects
weren't stupid enough to try anything there. He sped up thinking that the great hall would be safer than anywhere else, and that's when he spotted
them, two men in the enterance hall, two men he didn't recognise. That was never a good thing in Fred's opinion. He ducked and tried to run to the
hall before he was spotted or could be accused of somethign he'd not done.
